Top Ten Facts About The Main Characters

So
many unanswered questions. They wouldn’t all be answered today.
“What
are you doing here?” He’d ordered her to take the day off. So had his father.
“I
know what you and Daddy said.” She looked away from him. “I met up with my
friend for lunch and I enjoyed being pampered at the spa. But I’ve been here
every day since you’ve been hospitalised and it felt strange not seeing you.”
“But
the chair...you shouldn’t sleep in it.”
Shoulders
rose and fell as she looked up at him through her long, dark lashes.
“When
I arrived, you were asleep, so I decided to read. I didn’t realise I was so
tired. I just drifted to sleep.” She bit her bottom lip, drawing his attention
to it.
The
need to kiss her overpowered him. On impulse, he settled a hand on her back,
pulling her close. With the other, he lifted her chin and lowered his head to
meet hers.
Muscles
on her back tensed. He massaged her skin like he would a skittish horse before
a game of polo. With gentle brushes, he swept his lips across hers. The sealed,
luscious pair called him to mine their depths. Instead, he coaxed and stroked
and traced them with his tongue from one end to the other, bidding his time.
He’d
caught a glimpse of her banked passion yesterday when he asked about their
wedding night. No matter what else went on, they desired each other. Mutual
attraction.
With
a low moan, she leaned in and opened for him.
As
he slipped in, her sweet flavour exploded on his tongue. She tasted of
peppermint and vanilla. In the recesses of his mind, the kiss registered. He’d
done this before. Tasted her.
A
groan rumbled within and he slid his hands around her waist and lifted her onto
his lap so that she straddled him.
Whimpering,
she rubbed against him, hips canting against hips, supple breasts crushed to
his chest.
Needing
intimate contact, he ran a palm over her side, skimming the swell of soft
breasts down to the hem of her tunic. He lifted it, his hand making contact
with smooth, warm skin. Another moan escaped her lips. He swallowed it, loving
her sound and taste. Moving his hand up till it reached her breast, he caressed
it through the lace of her bra, flicking the already taut nipple with his
thumb.
In
response, she ground against his bulge.
Sweet fuck!

My #Weekend

Throughout this weekend, and for many days to come, I will be shoving my fifth contemporary romance novel - SPARKLING DAWN through a major writing 'surgery'.

Meet Chloe, a fiery red head!

The aim is to spruce up the cover, the blurb and to clean out Chloe and Warren's story. I'm pleased to tell you that a brilliant author and publisher, Dorothy May Mercer of Mercer Publications and Ministries Inc is working on editing the story. It is a great learning curve for me.

I've had very helpful critic and author, Bryden Lloyd tear apart the old blurb and a wonderful friend and author, Simone Beaudelaire re-arrange the blurb to an exciting new level.

Authors, if you need support and assistance with writing blurbs in any genre, hop over to The Write Stuff.

I'm not shy to admit I don't know it all and I'm not afraid to ask for help to sharpen my stories in order to please my loyal readers.

Here's the new blurb for SPARKLING DAWN.

Years ago, Chloe developed a secret crush on Warren, but a painful event led her to believe she had been set up. To preserve family ties, she kept the humiliating incident and her subsequent actions secret.

Now, a high-powered freelance fashion journalist, Chloe intends to live her jet-set life to the fullest, until her former crush unexpectedly knocks on the door.
Warren is still drawn to Chloe and has no idea why she holds back from him. Will they reconcile, or will Chloe's secret tear Warren's family reputation apart?

Meet Warren

Once the new book cover is out, the unveiling will take place here.

Midwife to Destiny by Nana Prah #Multicultural #Romance

The fabulous Ghanian romance author, Nana Prah is making a stop over today. Her new release, Midwife to Destiny is on a book tour. Read an excerpt and grab a copy.

Midwife to Destiny
by
Nana Prah
Destiny Series, Book 1
Contemporary Romance, Multicultural

BLURB
Ghanaian
nurse Aurora ‘Ora’ Aikins never expected to find the love of her life while on
vacation in South Africa. Engaged to another and believing that love has no
place in her life, she returns to Ghana, and puts duty and honor first.

Three
years later, Dr. Jason Lartey still can’t get Ora out of his mind or his heart.
After learning she never married, he takes a risk and moves to Ghana hoping to
rekindle what they started. His sudden appearance in Ora’s Emergency Department
sends sparks flying all over again.

They’re
in the same country, working in the same hospital, and together but distance
creeps between them. Can they make their destined love one for the ages?

The
pain pulsing through Aurora ‘Ora’ Aikins’ injured wrist transitioned into a
delicious, unfamiliar tingle when Dr. Lartey touched it.

“It’s
just my luck to come on vacation and get hurt,” she huffed in frustration as
she forced herself to not sigh at the pleasure his gentle probing touch evoked.

“You
were very lucky. The x-ray shows your wrist isn’t broken, but you sustained a
very bad sprain so you have to be careful with it,” he said, sounding all
business-like.

Each
time he touched her wrist, her stomach twisted and her awareness of him as a
man, with the need to get to know him better, intensified.

These
sensations unnerved her but the gorgeous man she had the privilege of calling
her doctor seemed unaffected.

His
confident stride had drawn her attention when he’d entered the consulting room.
His spicy, with a citrusy undertone, cologne filled the sterile hospital air,
making her nostrils flare to take in more of his unique scent. Deep brown eyes
had perused her chart as she’d taken in his short-cropped hair, high
cheekbones, and thick lips that brought kissing into her mind. Dark smooth skin
rivalled the richness of high quality chocolate.

Ora
scanned the emergency room cubicle, which had become smaller with the doctor’s
broad-shouldered, towering stature, for cameras. Could she be on a reality TV
show? Starring in one had never been a life objective, but the crew might have
caught her unaware. No visible cameras, but those producers were sneaky and
could place one inside a stethoscope.

Nana
Prah was born in Ghana, West Africa, raised in the US and currently resides in
Ghana where she loves her job as a writer and nurse educator. She has been
writing since she can remember (in her journal) and has been an avid reader of
romance novels since the eighth grade. She has finally been able to utilize the
years and years of inadvertent research into writing her own romance novels
where love always conquers all.

What If A Married Man Wants You? #ExtraMaritalAffair #Romance

You're single and searching, hoping for your own man to find you and lead you down the aisle. Everywhere you turn, women seem engaged, married or in a serious relationship.

You're at the point where you're beginning to question your ability to get that special person that'll complete your world.

Then, a gorgeous man with charming personality, a winning attitude and boasting a fabulous job strolls into your life and wants to make you his girlfriend or mistress. The only snag is, he's married! He's got a wife and kids.

You're at a crossroad. The sensible option is to look him straight in the eye and tell him where to take his irresponsible charm.

But with your desire to be in a relationship the driving force, you consider giving in to his request, even though your conscience warns you of the dire consequences.

Why take a decision that will cause you and others heartache?

MY ADVICE

BE the sane voice of reason to direct Mr. Married back to his wife. Even if he has admirable qualities, he's taken and well out of your  reach. If he's tempted to cheat on his wife, don't be his helper.

TELL him to sort out his problems with his wife, instead of running into another woman's hands.

If he persists, SHUT the door in his face.

The perfect man for you is on the way. WAIT for him! Good gifts come to those who wait.

Flirty & Feisty Romance...wishes you all the best in your search for the special one.

#RomanceQuotesMonday12

What a glorious new day! Happy Monday to you.

I have a fancy treat for you on Romance Quotes Monday.

A fascinating poet and friend, I admire greatly, Celestine Nudanu composed an African love poem - Ancient Dance, just for you.

Ancient Dance

Under the baobab we kiss and dance
to the rhythms of ancient love drums
beating to alert us to the full moon
winking in harmony with our frenzied steps

our bodies taut with energy
glistening with the sweat of our longing
simmering with the heat of our desire
yearning for the languorous breeze
to set the pace as we collide
in a mystic, wondrous ritual

#BringBackOurGirls - Weeping Eyes

Weeping Eyes, my first attempt at writing a poem is dedicated to the over two hundred Nigerian school girls kidnapped by Boko Haram.

Weeping Eyes

Sunray streamed into the classroom
Hopeful eyes saw the falling broom
As the teacher wiped the blackboard
Loud noise toppled the cupboard
In the twinkle of an eye
Fierce some men rushed by
With machine guns
Clutching matchete
Screaming out orders

Fear dripped into our hearts
Eyes saw a black bat
Indicating bad omen
We screamed, frightened
Cloud of dust everywhere
To safety we're taking you
They chorused
Guided in rows
Our faces blindfolded
Our feet crawled forward
Into wooden trucks of deceit

Dumped into a vast space
Scattered with trees and shrubs
In the fading light
Our vision blight
Without a crackling fire
Flies, reptiles paced around
Withered leaves abound
Fancy birds peck and sing
Of our captivity
Of our fading dream
Of getting educated
To be a role model

Our eyes well up in tears
Hearts heavy with sorrow
As we stared around
At the harsh reality
That we've been kidnapped
Not for ransom
To be sold as slaves
Or sold as wives
To men as old as our fathers
Far away from home
To unknown families
In faraway lands
Our lives of no value
To Boko Haram

Who can save us
To achieve our dreams
To gain freedom
To gain the right to be in school
To marry men of our choice
To have a life we choose
To be with our families
Who love and care for us
In God we trust
Have faith, we must

Are You a Quitter? #Winners Never Quit

If you quit without trying too hard or as a habit, this post is for you.

You needn't be a quitter! You can't be a quitter and also be a winner.

Life is full of challenges meant to strengthen you in ways you can't imagine. Yes, to strengthen you for higher challenges and results.

If there's no obstacle, there's no victory or celebration. The tougher the troubles people throw your way, the sweeter your laughter and victory dance is going to be.

Here are a few tips on how to hold on through tough times:

SHAKE UP YOUR ATTITUDE

View problems as OPPORTUNITIES you need to overcome to get you where you ought to be. They're necessary to sharpen you. Is there anyone you know in this world who is problem-free? Name them.

PLAY ALONG

When it is sorrow time, go with the flow and cry...and cry to your heart's content. It has healing power.
Don't waste your time moaning and complaining. When it is time to celebrate, go all out and be happy. Joy and laughter refreshes your bones.

There's a season for all things. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to be happy and a time to be sad. So what if your marriage isn't working or your friends have deserted and  betrayed you, or your parents aren't supportive or you've just lost your job? So what if you're a victim of war, abuse or accident!

Take it from me, it isn't the end of the world, it may be a whole new beginning!

TAKE ACTION

Do something, take a step closer to your goal. Get help. Take it from me, it isn't the end of the world. Pray for wisdom, take time to reflect and learn. Life is a teacher, so be an excellent student!

MODERATION

Remember to do all things in moderation. There's nothing happening to you that is new. Other men and women have walked this path before you. Some won and others lost. What group do you want to belong to?

HOPE

Hope for tomorrow is enough to keep you going until you achieve your goal(s). It is a good habit to read autobiography of successful people. Many many successful people experienced challenges that threatened to break them, but they never gave up.

A FRESH START

You can rewrite your story by God's grace. Make a new start and learn the virtues of patience, tolerance, diligence and in due time, you'll have a great story to tell.

Today's worry is tomorrow's history. Don't give up. Here's a popular quote; "Tough times don't last, tough people do".

Happy Bank Holiday Monday to you wonderful people.

Welcome to another Romance Quotes Monday, where we serve you love quotes to keep your heart beating for someone special.

To sizzle your relationship today, I bring you a cute love poem written by Rex Williams. Enjoy.

Never Have I Fallen

Your lips speak soft sweetness
Your touch a cool caress
I am lost in your magic
My heart beats within your chest

I think of you each morning
And dream of you each night
I think of your arms being around me
And cannot express my delight

Never have I fallen
But I am quickly on my way
You hold a heart in your hands
That has never before been given away
